Should I stop taking guitar lessons?
Well I really don't want to continue taking lessons but I wanna continue playing guitar.....And the reason is of course the teacher. He always yells at me whenever I'm doing something wrong and he just makes me hate going to the guitar lesson . I feel like I can't express myself when playing guitar and that he has limited my playing by making me do some things the way he wants. For example strumming . I don't think there's only one way to strum is there? Everytime I have guitar lessons I get really nervous and anxious thinking that he'll find something to correct in everything I do and it really brings me down.I was about to cry because I didn't get what he was talking about and he was yelling at me the other day. So yeah that's why I just wanna stop taking guitar lessons. I really do LOVE playing guitar and I think I can teach myself since I know the basics chords, note scales, barre chords, fingerpicking . All I want is to just enjoy it and be free to express myself through it. Can someone tell me what to do?Am I right?Should I just stop taking lessons?
How to convince my parents to let me take guitar lessons?
They haven't said outright no yet. Every time I ask them, they just look at me and sort of chuckle. I have no idea why they would say no, though. I've played the piano for seven years so far, so quitting the instrument isn't likely. My grades are excellent, so I really can't strike a deal with them in that department. Plus, we own a guitar already my little sister took lessons, needless to say that was a bust . I've told them all of this, too. However, whenever I ask them they still won't give me a straight answer. It's pretty frustrating.
What are bass guitar lessons like?
I play bass guitar in my school freshman Jazz Band, and I pretty much know how to play because I play regular guitar outside of school and I take lessons. I am liking bass guitar a lot though, and I am wondering for anyone who has taken bass guitar lessons, what are they like? Do places that offer guitar lessons offer bass guitar lessons? What do you do? Do you think I would enjoy it more than guitar?
So I'm thinking about giving guitar lessons....how much should I charge?
I'm 18 and in starting think about giving guitar lessons for beginners right now I use to teach at my schools guitar club and I was president until it got cut. I can play a variety of styles such as blues, funk, rock, jazz, gospel, etc.. I have a good knowledge of music theory also. I've arranged several pieces not just for guitar, but string orchestra, and I've played in different bands, and currently in church. So I have a decent background because. I really love teaching and helping others and I think it's a great learning experience. But I'm not really what how much I should charge. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe 20 hr
Guitar and guitar lessons.?
Well I've been playing guitar for a couple of years self taught . I'm pretty decent at guitar but I want to get better obviously and I'm still in the processes of self teaching and what not. However, would taking guitar lessons help at all? I'm thinking about taking them but I want to know if they actually help. Maybe some one who has took guitar lessons could give me some tips. Just like if it helps and what kinds of things would they teach and what not there. Thank you.
Should I keep taking guitar lessons with this guy?
I am currently taking guitar lessons because I love musc and think it would be fantastic to play. Up until a year ago, I had no understanding of musical notation whatsoever, so I started taking lessons from this guy once a week for $22. Right now, I still don't know how to really play except for little finger practices and a very small bit of chords. However my friend who is in a band and has taken guitar lessons from a different guy for a year as well, knows how to play well. I have questioned my teacher about why he hasn't taught me more, and he says that I am developing skills for later, and that I should trust him because it will pay off later. My question is, should I keep taking lessons from this guy and wait to see if it pays off or try a new teacher...? as an added note, I don' think it involves my own practice, as I have questioned him about my habits and he said that I was moving at a normal pace
Best guitar lessons online?
For free and easy to follow? I have some good background knowledge music theory, parts of guitar, guitar string names, maintenance, etc. but really need help with chords and what not. Videos would be appreciated. I really need help I've looked around the internet and can't find too much. Finding a tutor in my area isn't an option. Thank you.
Should I quit guitar lessons or does it get easier?
I've paid $250 for a guitar and amp and $150 so far for 2 months of lessons I've only played a month . I recently learned hammer ons and pull offs and the opening to Sweet Home Alabama, but when I play it sounds nothing like the song. I've learned a scale and a few chords but can't remember any off the top of my head without looking at the tabs, which take me awhile to understand how to read them. I practice 30 minutes a day but I don't feel like I'm progressing soundwise. Am I supposed to perfect everything I've learned each week by the next lesson or does it all come together over time?
Should I get guitar lessons?
I have been playing guitar learning to play for about a year now and I am teaching myself. I know that teaching yourself is more challenging but I feel frustrated cause I feel like I cant bend my fingers to play chords and I dont know a lot of guitar terms if you will. Should I get lessons? or keep teaching myself?
Online guitar lessons?
I have come to two online courses. Jamorama or Guitar Tricks. Has anyone had any experience with both or one and can give some feedback as to how they were? Thanks
