Would my weight loss regimen benefit from a vegetarian diet or do I still need meat protein?
I am 5'6 and 20lbs shy of the heaviest I have ever been 247lbs. I was 267 but I already lost those 20lbs I FINALLY figured out my bad habits I don't eat too much, I rarely eat breakfast and I stress eat or eat in front the T.V so I lose track of how much I exactly eat, AND I'm a carb nut Mostly I want sweet carbs and chips when I stress eat. If I know I'll eat some chips or something, I won't really eat much for the rest of the day. I don't have much of an appetite but I know those unhealthy carbs are directly stored as FAT so I've made some healthy changes . Over the next year I am aiming to at least lose one pound a week to equal roughly a 100lb weight loss by the end of the year. I am eating low carbs by only allowing myself 100g a day However I am not counting the carbs in veggies, apples, berries, and strawberries...but I am for everything else I am going to exercise 6 days a week for the first 8 weeks to take advantage of the weight that first melts off when you change your habits, then I was moving down to 5 days a week and 1 day of yoga to help tone. I was wondering though would a vegetarian diet be safe for this intense change? I know it will help me achieve my goal, or should I at least keep meats until I get a little closer to my goal since I will be exercising so intensely with interval training and runs till I pass out? I know I can be vegetarian no problem, but a friend is telling me I'm going to need natural protein to rebuild my muscles, I couldn't just drink soy milk, whey protein, eat tofu or beans to substitute for the protein of chicken and turkey? I figured being a vegetarian would help me achieve my goal quicker and I'd be able to focus better by eliminating meats which will make me want potatoes, bread, and other junk with it. It's like the salt triggers something in my body and brain. But I guess eating turkey and chicken every now and then wouldn't hurt if I absolutely have to. I wanted to ask to be sure, I might just call a health trainer if I can find my phone book lol but I'm already 3 weeks in and I feel great I lost roughly 9lbs the other 21 lbs came from my tonsils coming out recently lol. I have lots of energy from the changes and my skin has never been more clear But my friend is telling me I'm going to pass out somewhere because I won't keep the energy I need to fuel me during exercises and I won't be able to keep it up. But a lot of athletes I know are vegetarian but they have a really frail look, is there anything special I should incorporate to keep myself looking toned and HEALTHY and not saggy skinny? If that makes sense lol. The vegetarian proteins will be sufficient right, or the meats are actually needed for proper toning? I just don't want to set myself up for failure or have my efforts sabotaged either

Recommend a vegan weight loss diet?
I want to lose some weight that I gained at university. I also want to go vegan. However every vegan diet that I have tried leaves me ravenously hungry so I can't stick to it. I tried Joel Fuhrman's Eat to live diet of beans vegetables and fruit. I was a bit hungry on it and I also didn't enjoy the food.I tried raw veganism raw fruit and vegetables but I was always starving.I tried McDougall's starch based diet and got very hungry very quickly after meals. Is there a vegan diet that gives fast weight loss without hunger? So many diets tell people to " fill up on vegetables" but I don't find vegetables filling no matter how much of them I eat, I'm hungry again a short time later. I'm thinking I'll have to forget about being a vegan at this rate.what does the bikini diet involve? I don't want to buy a book.

Will becoming vegetarian cause weight loss?
I stopped eating meat a couple of days ago, so it hasn't been long yet. I'm not doing this for weight loss, just for health. I already exercised and ate quite healthy before, the only real difference is no meat and so I imagine meals have less fat . Like I said, I'm not doing this for weight loss, but is it likely that I will lose weight anyway?I feel like it's important to include that I'm making sure I get plenty of protein, like replacing with things like egg whites, tempeh, tofu, legumes, and protein powder.

Vegans and weight loss?
hi there,i'm a formerly severe obese person who's been on a strict diet since i was 16. i'm 19 now. i lost 1 3 of my weight in the first 10 months, but then i just stopped losing weight, don't know why. i'm still dieting though, hoping that my organism will come up sometime. i tried to exercise more, but there was too little progress and when it comes to dieting i'm a very impatient person. i'm telling you all that because i decided to become a vegan for 30 days, see what changes will occurr in my blood and then think, because there's a high possibility of becoming vegan later in my life. i still need time to think though.before, i was sick with meat. i didn't want to see it, smell it or cook it, because my diet called for a lot of protein and meat. so i only had it once every 3 months. but i consumed dairy.anyway, there's only 2 weeks left for my vegan style of life, but i just feel great. i feel my body light even if i still weight a lot and my back soft and not aching i have lordosis .plus,i have re started losing weight i'm excited, but i also worry that i may not intake enough nutrients, so the weight lost is muscle and not fat. i replaced dairy with soya and vegan cheeses.i eat legumes on a daily basis combined with whole grain bread, so ican say i'm careful, but i still don t know.see i'm quite tall 5'10'' and big and my protein needs are also big. but my portions are far smaller than those that my body requires. so what can you say?i'm sorry for the big text and thank you for reading it all.
